Our History



H & H Group began in 1901 as W.J. Hyland, a small plumbing and pipe fitting business located in Madison, Wisconsin.. In 9134, George Hall purchased W.J. Hyland and renamed the company Hyland Hall. Evans and Reuschlein started an electrical division of Hyland Hall that was incorporated as H & H Electric in 1956. Mechanical operations of Hyland Hall Company were transferred in 1974 to H & H Industries. That same year, H & H Electric purchased W.J. Allan Electric, an electrical contractor in Janesville, WI. Five years later H & H Electric purchased Magaw Electric in New Berlin and Sturtevant, WI. In 1981, Hyland Hall was renamed H & H Group. At this time, H & H Industries, H & H Electric, Magaw Electric of New Berlin and Magaw Electric Construction of Sturtevant and W. J. Allan Electric of Janesville became wholly owned subsidiaries of H & H Group, Inc. Frank Hoffman was named President of Magaw Electric Construction in 1985. William (Chip) Plummer became President of H & H Electric in 1992 and President of H & H Group in 2006. Scott Plummer was named President of Magaw Electric a year later. Mike Christensen became President of H & H Industries in 1998. W. J. Allan was renamed H & H Solar Energy Services in 2002. Frank Hoffman retired as Chairman of the Board of H & H Group in 2006.
